Welcome to the Vegetarian and Vegan Guide to Austin!
May Feature of the Month: Counter Culture opens doors to brick and mortar location

Counter Culture was born in July 2009 as a food trailer run by Sue Davis. Fast forward to 2012—the trailer was sold and Counter Culture reopened in its current location, continuing to offer meatless, dairy-free, and raw foods made from scratch at remarkably affordable prices. Counter Culture procures organic, fair trade and locally grown food from area farmers like Springdale Farms, Johnson's Backyard Gardens, Farm to Table, and delicious desserts from Capital City Bakery. Sue and the Counter Culture team go to great lengths to reuse, recycle and compost 95% of their waste—even using their gray water to hydrate their patio plants!
Counter Culture offers daily specials, as well as a variety of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, handmade desserts, local beer, organic/sustainable wine, and even local tea and coffee. In addition, the menu always has many oil free, gluten-free and soy-free options. Although vegan doesn't always mean healthy, Counter Culture emphasizes nutritious, unprocessed foods.
Credit Cards will be accepted starting Mon., April 7, and stay tuned for their expanding hours for Lunch and Brunch!
Hours: Wed-Sun 5:00-10:00 p.m.
